Brookfield East Forensics Tournament

Dear Forensic Coaches,

The Brookfield East High School Forensics Team is pleased to invite you to the Brookfield East Forensics Tournament on March 22-23, 20024 with Congress competing on Friday night and Individual Forensics Events on Saturday. Entry registration opens at noon on March 1, 2024 and will be through our tournament site at http://behsforensics.tabroom.com.

Location: Brookfield East High School 3305 N. Lilly Road, Brookfield, WI 53005

Registration: You must register your school using Tabroom. We will be using online balloting and we want everyone to have quick and easy access to their rounds. Before you complete your registration for our tournament, make sure that both your judges and your students have their emails and phone numbers linked to their tabroom accounts. If you are new to Tabroom, check out this Tabroom FAQ for instructions on linking. The deadline is 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 21, 2024.

Events: All WFCA Events will be offered including Congress on Friday night. Please check the latest WFCA handbook at http://www.wfcaforensics.org for event rules and regulations.

Fees: $16.00 will be charged per Congress student, $10 for Individual Events and $15.00 for Duo Interpretation, Group Interpretation and Play Acting. You will be responsible for all entry fees as of
5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Drops after March 21st do not reduce your fees or judge requirement. Please make checks payable to: Brookfield East High School Forensics.

CONGRESS: Friday, March 22, 2024
Legislation is due a week before the tournament on March 15th, 2024. The schedule will be as follows:

Session 1: 4:00p - 6:00p

Session 2: 6:30p - 8:30pm

INDIVIDUAL FORENSICS EVENTS: Saturday, March 23, 2024
Entries: You may register as many entries as you wish. Your top 25 contestants will be counted for team trophies with 4 max in any category. This is a SINGLE entry tournament.

Judges: You must provide 1 judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof; 10 entries require 2 judges, 11 entries require 3 judges, etc. Failure to meet your judging obligation will result in a $150 fine each. All judges should be familiar with WFCA rules and ballots and must have linked accounts on tabroom.com in order to be registered to judge. In the Judges’ Lounge, coffee and breakfast items will be provided in the morning and lunch will be served after the preliminary rounds compliments of Brookfield East Families:-)

Confirmation: Please enter your drops and confirm your registration online Saturday morning before you leave your school to confirm your arrival and update us of any late drops by 7:00 a.m.

Food: A concession stand will be open for students to purchase snacks and lunch items in the Cafeteria. Please plan to eat at school so that Power Rounds are not delayed.

Awards: Plaques will be awarded to the top three students in each event. Medals will be awarded to the finalists. Team awards will be awarded as follows: Places 1 – 3 in Small (based on quality) and Large (based on total points). Team sizes for awards will be determined based on registration numbers. Points will be calculated based on each team’s top 25 entries. All team results will be available for download at tabroom.com.
